Manuka Honey

The Nectar from Nature

New Zealand Manuka (ma-nu-ka) honey has long been used for medicinal and therapeutic purposes due to its powerful antibacterial properties. Alpine Silk Manuka Honey helps heal, moisturise and repair your skin.
“UMF Manuka Honey naturally hydrates the skin by drawing
in moisture."
Our Honey farmers are based in Murchison, New Zealand. The manuka plant (Leptospermum Scoparium) is a native New Zealand evergreen tree. In summer it has strongly scented pink and white flowers, which bees love. The Unique Manuka Factor® describes the anti-bacterial properties of the honey. The higher the UMF® rating, the higher the level of anti-bacterial benefits. When applied to skin, manuka honey locks that moisture in, retaining it for longer periods.

Alpine Silk Quality

The manuka honey used in Alpine Silk skincare is extracted in a sustainable manner directly from nature through New Zealand bees. Our cosmetics are produced under strict quality control conditions in a modern laboratory utilising sophisticated analytical techniques, ensuring we meet and exceed all New Zealand quality standards.

UMF Manuka Honey Science

The UMF (Unique Manuka factor) Honey Association has a world-leading science programme that is focused on identifying the unique signature compounds of genuine manuka honey to safeguard consumers and the industry.

“Our quality mark can be found on over 80% of all New Zealand manuka honey export products. Therefore, we strongly recommend that consumers always look for the UMF® quality mark on any manuka honey product that they buy, as a way of ensuring they are buying genuine New Zealand manuka honey.
